There are 7 Transfer Stations across the district; Hawera, Opunake, Manaia, Patea, Eltham, Waitotara and Waverley.

Free recycling facilities, open 24 hours a day, are available at Opunake, Eltham, Manaia, Waitotara and Waverley  transfer stations.  Patea and Hawera Transfer Stations also have free recycling however these can only be accessed in working hours

All Transfer Stations are closed Christmas Day, New Years Day and Good Friday. Transfer stations will also be closed in the event of high winds.

Hazardous Waste
Domestic Hazardous Waste (paints, batteries) under 10 litres can be left at Hawera, Waverley, Opunake, Eltham Transfer Stations. Callers with queries regarding disposal of special or possibly hazardous wastes should call the Taranaki Regional Council during working hours.
