The Council provides swimming pools for public use throughout the district. There are pools in Waverley, Patea, Rawhitiroa, Eltham, Kaponga and Manaia. This year the pool season opens on Wednesday 14 December 2011 and closes on Tuesday 13 March 2012.
The Council also makes a contribution to the Opunake Baths Society Incorporated. The Society provides a heated indoor pool in conjunction with the Opunake High School. This is open to the public outside school hours.
The Powerco Aquatic Centre in Hawera is open all year round and has a 25 m indoor heated pool and a 50 m outdoor heated pool, plus indoor learners’ pool, toddlers’ spray & play pool, thermal pool and hydro-slide.
