2011/2012 Annual Plan Proposal
What is this Annual Plan Proposal?
Basically it’s an annual budget and a project update that tracks and compares what the Council wants to do in the coming year against what it said it would do in its Ten Year Plan. The Ten Year Plan makes us plan the programmes, services and projects we intend to carry out in the district over the long term (think of it as a masterplan) whereas the Annual Plan focuses us just on the upcoming year. The most important thing about the Annual Plan, is that it sets the rates for the coming year.
The Council approved its proposed Annual Plan for 2011/2012 on Monday 21 March and wants to know what you think about it.
Below is a link to the Council's 2011/12 Annual Plan Proposal (full version) and a summary copy. The Summary Annual Plan Proposal outlines all the main points/highlights and the levels of rates contained in the full Annual Plan Proposal.
You can also visit any LibraryPlus centre or the Hawera Administration Building to get a copy or phone (06) 278 0555 or toll free 0800 111 323 to arrange for a copy to be sent to you.
Once it has considered all public feedback the Council will make a final decision and adopt the final Annual Plan for the 2011 -2012 financial year.
So how do I give my feedback?
The Annual Plan Proposal is open for public consultation from 31 March to 3 May. This is your chance to let the Mayor and Councillors understand your views about the proposed Plan and to put forward other ideas, so please take the time to get involved and have your say.
