Ever wondered if you have what it takes to become an author?

We are offering you the opportunity to find out by attending a Writing Workshop  in Hawera in May.

This workshop is being offered free to adults, who are eligible to enter the accompanying competition, as part of the annual Ronald Hugh Morrieson Literary Awards. It has been made possible with funding kindly sponsored by the Lysaght-Watt Trust (administered by Halliwells).

2011 Judge is Janice Marriott of Wellington.

Workshop Details:

Saturday May 21st 2011

9am - 10.30am

  • Confidence building
  • Generating ideas
  • Empowering participants as writers
  • Thought stimulation
  • techniques
  • Interactive workshop – ie. Lots of chatting in groups etc 

Morning Tea provided

11am-12.30pm

  • Half the session participants are guided to produce a small piece of writing
  • 2nd half - Share your work for discussion
