The Davis Cup clash with Philippines next week at the TSB Hub in Hawera will feature a number of firsts for tennis in this country.

The July 8-10 Asia/Oceania Group I contest will feature live streaming as well as videos on Facebook via youtube and twitter updates.

The live streaming via Spark Productions will be one of the few opportunities that Davis Cup tennis has been available live to public in the past 20 years.

The live streaming will be on the Tennis NZ website on the homepage, preview click here http://www.tennisnz.com/Article.aspx?ID=7267.The Tennis NZ Facebook site will feature updates, photos and videos via youtube of interviews and action. Twitter @tennisnz will have score updates as well as links to photos, videos and live streaming.

LiveStream Schedule:
Friday 8th July - 2pm - Two Singles Rubbers * Live Streaming will start from 1.45pm with the Opening Ceremony
Saturday 9th July - 2pm - One Doubles Rubber * Live Streaming will start from 2pm
Sunday 10th July - 10am - Two Reverse Singles Rubbers * Live Streaming will start from 10am

The 2XU Compression New Zealand team is Michael Venus who made the quarterfinals of a US$50,000 Challenger event near Chicago this week. Artem Sitak is in the team as is Rubin Statham and Marcus Daniell. Marcel Vos is the non-playing captain.

The Philippines team features former top 80 ranked Cecil Mamiit who is now Maria Sharapova’s hitting partner. Also in the Philippines team are a couple of younger players with good pedigrees in juniors Ruben Gonzales and Jeson Patrombon as well as Jonny Arcilla.
