Monday, June 18, 2012
Know of a quiet achiever? Impressed by the community initiative shown by a neighbour? Does the dedication of a volunteer amaze you? Stunned by a successful student?
Get your thinking caps on because nominations are now open for the 2012 South Taranaki Community Awards and we want to hear from you!
If you know of someone - an individual or group, deserving recognition for going beyond the call of duty from within the South Taranaki community - nominations open on Wednesday 4th July.
These awards are for individuals or organisations within South Taranaki who have, by personal leadership, inspiration, sacrifice or devotion, made a significant contribution to the wellbeing of their communities.
“You could nominate someone who dedicates their time assisting others; a sports coach or community volunteer or beautifying a public place are just some examples,” awards co-ordinator Sally Flintoff says.
The six categories are Volunteer - individual; Volunteer – organisation; Achiever – primary/intermediate student; Achiever – open individual; Community Initiative – community and environment; Community Initiative – arts and culture.
Nominations open on Wednesday 4th July and close on Wednesday 15th August.
