Guided Walk at Hollard Gardens

Thursday, January 26, 2012 06:30 PM

Senior Gardener Sandy Powell will lead visitors around the 4.5 ha property, whose diverse and beautiful collection of plants is the legacy of renowned plantsman Bernie Hollard, who founded the garden in the late 1920s.

Now owned and administered by the Taranaki Regional Council on behalf of the people of the region, Hollards is currently in full summer bloom. The property is open all year round and free to visit.

Thursday’s guided walk begins at 6.30pm at the Gatehouse. The weather forecast is good and participants are encouraged to bring a picnic to enjoy afterwards. Free barbecue and kitchen facilities available, and the gardens’ normal closing time will be extended an hour to 9pm.

Venue: 1686 Upper Manaia Rd, Kaponga
