New Zealand Music Month @ LibraryPlus
May is New Zealand Music Month and to celebrate this, South Taranaki LibraryPlus centres are bringing in New Zealand singer/songwriter Rachel Dawick.
Rachel will be visiting your local LibraryPlus sometime next week to perform as part of her national ‘Follow my Tears’ Tour.
While she is here she’ll also tutor Music Composition Workshops for local high school students.
As she is making her way through her tour, she is collecting stories about local pioneer women.
The idea came to her after was going through letters and photographs from her grandparents. Rachel realised there is a need to record and hold some of these experiences that pioneer women lived through for future generations. The stories she collects will be used in her next album.
Everyone is encouraged to come along to these sessions – but especially those of you who have photos or stories about pioneer women from this district, or from your family.
