Friday, April 11, 2014
Taranaki Principal Rural Fire Officer, Nigel Dravitzki, announced that the Prohibited Fire Season that has been in place in the rural areas of the Patea Ward in South Taranaki District will be lifted at midnight Sunday 13 April 2014.
The Prohibited Fire Season will be replaced by an Open Fire Season for most of Taranaki.
The only exception is the land area under the control of the Eltham Drainage Committee which has a year round Restricted Fire Season in place.
Residents in the Eltham Drainage Committee area requiring a permit, for which there is no charge, should contact the Taranaki Rural Fire Authority on 0800 6525 4448. Please allow at least 48 hours notice so that an inspection can be arranged.
