Industrial Park Study - Feedback Wanted
Wednesday, June 19, 2019
The South Taranaki District Council is seeking feedback on an Industrial Park and Initial Business Case Study undertaken by two companies working together, Veros and Rationale.
The study, which is part funded by the Government’s Provincial Growth Fund, was commissioned because the Council saw a need for having industrial zoned land, in the right place, to enable growth.
South Taranaki District Council Chief Executive Waid Crockett says the project is one of the Council’s Long Term Plan actions to look at ways of supporting sustainable economic development and improving economic resilience.
The consultants visited the district in March, speaking to land owners with existing zoned industrial land, Council staff, business people and real estate agents to establish demand, where the optimum sites for any development would be, infrastructure requirements and whether such a development would be feasible. They came back in May and workshopped their initial findings with the Council and business people to see if they were on the right track.
We are now seeking feedback on the study by June 30 to inform the Council at a workshop in July.
The study can be viewed here or hard copies are available at the Council office or at the LibraryPlus across the district.
To comment on the study please phone the Council on 0800 111 323 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
