Funky tunes are returning to Opunake Beach with Sounds on the Sand.
The South Taranaki District Council is bringing Whanganui-based band Re-Set to Opunake Beach on Saturday 13 January from 12.30pm.
Sounds on the Sand organiser Jody Bloor is expecting a great afternoon’s entertainment.
“We are looking forward to the 2018 event, we just need to the weather to play its part and if the first month of summer was anything to go by it should be a stunner. So come along, bring the kids and a picnic, sit back and relax, enjoy the sounds from the band Re-set.”
Re-Set play both covers and originals from a wide range of genres including funk, soul, R&B and rock. “They are high energy with two complimentary guitars, sax, drums, bass and tight harmony vocals. The band has just returned from playing at the Queenstown Jazz and Blues Festival and is looking forward to Sounds on the Sand 2018,” says Jody.
“There will also be free face painting for the kids, so bring the whole family and make an afternoon of it.”
“Unfortunately the 2017 event was cancelled due to poor weather, so this time we have moved the event to a Saturday, which means if the weather is unkind to us, we have the Sunday as the postponement day,” she says.
