Superscreen returns to Waverley

Friday, February 18, 2011

The TSB Superscreen will be returning to Waverley on Sunday 6 March for a repeat of last year’s very popular Movies in the Park.

The three family friendly movies which will be screening at Waverley’s Dallison Park are:Spiderman, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and The Karate Kid

This year the free event, which is organised by the South Taranaki District Council, is being supported by the Waverley Chamber of Commerce to celebrate National Children's Day.  As well as the Superscreen the Chamber has organised mini truck rides, food and drinks.

“It’s going to be an awesome afternoon and a great way to celebrate National Children’s Day,” says i-SITE and Events Co-ordinator Tarin Hunt.

“We want everyone to come along - bring the family, have a sausage off the sausage sizzle, sit back and relax enjoying the movies on the big screen,” she says.

The afternoon kicks off with Spiderman at 1pm then the great kids cartoon ‘Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs’ at 3.15pm and finishes off with the ‘Karate Kid’ at 5pm.

“It’s a real coup to be able to play the new Karate Kid movie,” says Tarin. “It was only in theatres last year and released on DVD this year, so to have permission to play it is fantastic.”
