Arts in the Park - this weekend!
Monday, November 29, 2010
Take the opportunity to venture around King Edward Park between 10am and 4pm this Saturday (December 4) to get your fill of local handmade arts and crafts, delicious food, entertainment and activities for the kids.
We’ve got things to amuse everyone – from the young to the old. Buskers, brass bands and dancers will captivate the crowds.
To entertain the little ones there will be a full programme of activities and fun from the Travelling Tuataras. If that’s not enough to keep them occupied – the face painting and pony rides will! Be sure to visit the children’s entertainment by the playground.
There will be a variety of culinary treats for you to select and eat picnic-style in the park. Find the food area by the Pirate Ship or just follow your nose.
Arts in the Park organiser Tarin Hunt says that this year’s event will be bigger and better than ever.
“This year there’s going to be more - more stalls, more food and an all-day entertainment programme,” says Tarin. “It’ll be a day out not to miss. Come along and see if you can find some unique Christmas presents!”
If it’s wet, or the weather is bad, the event will happen on Sunday 5th December. Ring the South Taranaki i-SITE Visitor Centre on 278 8599 or 0800 111 323 for more information.
