Bringing TV Takeback to you

Bringing TV Takeback to you

South Taranaki District Council in partnership with Egmont Refuse and Recycling is bringing TV Takeback to the wider district.

To make it easier for residents to responsibly recycle their old TVs, the TV Takeback team will be outside the gates of the Patea Transfer Station on Saturday 5 October from 10am – 2pm, the Opunake Transfer Station on Saturday 12 October from 10am-2pm and at the Manaia Transfer Station on Saturday 19 October from 10am – 2pm.

This is especially good timing considering South Taranaki has just switched over to digital television and there might be some surplus televisions sets hanging around.

“This is a perfect opportunity for you to get rid of your surplus television sets responsibly and at minimum cost,” says South Taranaki District Council operations engineer Herbert Denton.

If you drop your televisions off during this day, you will only be charged $5 (the price is usually set at about $20 for recycling your televisions).

This offer applies to householders only. Businesses will have to pay a full-unsubsidised charge. The subsidy is limited – so be in quick to ensure you get the subsidised rate.

TVs can also be recycled at Egmont Refuse and Recycling, Noel Leemings in Hawera and New Plymouth for $5, also for a limited time.
