Digital TV - don't leave it until the last minute
Thursday, January 31, 2013
As you come back to work after enjoying the holiday break, thinking about your new year’s resolutions and preparing for the back to school rush, digital television might not be on the forefront on your mind, however, it’s important not to leave it until the last minute.
While there is still some time before South Taranaki goes digital, it pays to start thinking now about how you plan to watch your favourite programmes after 29 September 2013 if you haven’t yet gone digital says Community Adviser Robin Winter.
“There were people in Hawke’s Bay who left the move to digital TV until the last minute and when they sought help from technicians or installers they found there was a long wait to get sorted,” said Ms Winter
“It’s also important to remember that you don’t need a new TV to go digital as almost any set can be converted with the right set-top box and UHF aerial or satellite dish, depending on where you live” said Ms Winter.
Every TV, video or DVD recorder you want to continue using after 29 September 2013 needs to go digital. If recording is important to you, you may wish to consider a digital recorder which also works as a set top box for your TV.
