Free Funding Workshop for Volunteers

Free Funding Workshop for Volunteers

Thursday, June 09, 2016

Time is running out for volunteer groups to register for a free funding workshop being held in Hawera in June.

To celebrate National Volunteers Week 2016 South Taranaki Volunteers have been invited to attend a free workshop on Sustainable Funding.

Workshops will be held at TSB Hub in Hawera on Wednesday 22 June with volunteers invited to register for either a morning or afternoon session. The workshops will be delivered by Kerri Tilby-Price who is the founder of Exult Ltd and is recognised as one of New Zealand’s leading trainers for the non-profit sector.

South Taranaki Mayor, Ross Dunlop, says these workshops replace the round of community lunches which have previously been held across the district and they will give something extra back to the community.

“I hope our many volunteers who give so much to our district will take advantage of this opportunity as Kerri has a wealth of experience to share,” he says.

Kerri is the author of several books including the best-selling ‘The Seriously Good Guide to Fundraising’ and is the editor of Tonic Magazine, a quarterly publication for the community sector, which is available in South Taranaki LibraryPlus centres.

To book either the morning workshop which runs from 9am till 11.30am or the afternoon session which is from 1.30pm until 4pm, please contact South Taranaki District Council Community Development Advisor Glenn Hansen on (06) 278 0555, or toll free on 0800 111 323 or glenn.hansen@stdc.govt.nz by Monday 13 June. Please specify which workshop you would like to attend.

This workshop is free for all South Taranaki volunteers but there will be a charge of $30 for those outside the South Taranaki District. The workshop has been funded by the TSB Community Trust, South Taranaki District Council with support from The Wheelhouse partnership.
