Get your dancing shoes on
Wednesday, June 04, 2014
The South Taranaki District Council’s Relay for Life team is at it again – bringing its annual Charity formal dinner and dance to town on Friday 4 July.
This year, the featured band will be local group Accumen, who always know how to get everyone up and dancing.
“The community always get together and get behind this fabulous cause – and it’s an easy thing to do when you are guaranteed a great night out!” says team leader Michelle Commerer. “The dinner, dessert, entertainment is all catered for (even the ride home, for a small extra charge) – all you need to worry about is what you’re going to wear.”
Since 2006, the Council has entered a team in the Relay for Life. Always committed to fundraising, the team has raised more than $25,000 over the years, reaching ‘Dream Team’ status for the past two years (raising over $5000).
“It is a cause that we all have a personal interest in, one way or another. Cancer has touched so many lives, and we’re doing what we can now to assist those affected in our community and to raise cancer awareness to school students through the Taranaki Cancer Society,” says Michelle. “It’s important to note that the money raised in Taranaki, stays in Taranaki.”
Tickets are $70 each, or you can get a table of 10 for $650. Please contact Michelle Commerer on 0800 111 323 or email@example.com to book tickets.
