The Waverley Connections Art Exhibition and presentation of Lisa Walsh’s glass panel to the Waverley community attracted 427 visitors over the weekend.

Ms Walsh’s vibrant glass panel Woven Over Time depicts the people and the environment which she says are the two shapes which have made and shaped the community. Her vibrant artwork, which includes 50 poppies commemorating the fallen soldiers named on the Town Clock War Memorial, received much positive feedback from those who attended.

Ms Walsh said the Waverley Connections Exhibition was a great success with good comments about the variety of work on show. She said the committee organising the event had done a great job.

Ms Walsh voluntarily contributed her time to create the work with the material and installation costs supported by the Waverley Floral Art Group, Creative Communities and the Powerco Wanganui Trust. The organising committee is grateful to Creative Communities and the Lysaght Watt Trustees who supported the exhibition.
