The Egmont A&P Show is an annual event held on the third weekend in November it is now in it’s 128th year.

The show hosts a large trade area showcasing local and out of town businesses in both indoor and outdoor venues.  New agricultural trade site will be adjacent to the Tractor Pull competition for 2011.

Entertainment includes log jousting, childrens entertainment including a bouncy tunnel, stan stilman, an indoor rowing competition, kidzone hosted by The Radio Network, including th opportune opportunity to “dunk” a local celebrity or sportsman and the ever popular small animal tent. The side shows as always are a major attraction for the younger generation.

The show has a strong equestrian contingent encompassing Dressage, Show Jumping, Show Hunter, Miniature Horses and Showing classes. New to the show this year will be a Pony Puissance High Jump competition.  The Farmlands Cattle section is also well supported with many breeds shown and lots of involvement for children and their calves.  There is a small dog trialling section.

The show has a large home industry section last year rebranded the Moller Johnson Motors Leisure Pleasure & Treasure Section, including baking, vegetables, sewing and knitting, photography, model building and cut flowers. This years sees the Inaugural Great Pie Bake Off supported by Andersons Pie Shop. This section is an opportunity for anyone to enter the show.
