Wednesday, January 25, 2012
The pavements are being pounded, the water is splashing and the wheels are turning in anticipation of the 2012 Hub Health and Fitness Women’s Triathlon in Hawera.
2012 sees a welcome return for a women’s triathlon. After the Contact Women’s Triathlon was shifted to New Plymouth in 2011, interest remained strong in South Taranaki and the Council has decided to organise one alongside the annual Seaver’s Cycles Children’s Triathlon.
Taking place on Sunday 4 March at King Edward Park, Hawera (entrance via TSB Hub Car Park)the children will start the morning off at 9am before the women head out at 11am. The triathlon is a 300 metre pool swim, 10km bike and 3km run starting and finishing at King Edward Park. Women can enter individually or get some friends together and enter as a team.
So rally around friends and relations and get down to King Edward Park and support the women in your life.
Entries are available from South Taranaki i-SITE Visitor Centre, any South Taranaki LibraryPlus, Real Sports Hawera, Hub Health and Fitness or the Powerco Aquatic Centre. Click here for links to the training guide, entry form and course map.
