Sounds on the Sand is back again!
The South Taranaki District Council’s events team is bringing music to Opunake Beach on Sunday 17 February from 1pm.
“It’s going to be a great afternoon,” says event organiser Jody Bloor. “Hopefully we get great weather like we did last year - so come along, bring the kids and a picnic. Sit back and relax enjoying the sounds from the band ‘The Blues Buffet’ and the waves crashing on the beach.”
Blues Buffet vocalist and guitarist Fred Loveridge says the band draws its influence from mainly American rocking style blues and rock artists. Their music is a blend of country rock and blues with elements of boogie and swing.
The band has played at many festivals such as Blues, Brews and BBQ’s in Tauranga and the Manawatu Jazz and Blues Festival and are looking to perform many more live shows in 2013.
Joining Fred Loveridge, who will share the vocals with the rest of the band, will be Murray “Dusty” Loveridge on bass, Paul Wilson, harmonica/keyboards and the newest member of the band, Adam Dixon on drums.
“We look forward to returning to Opunake Beach for another great afternoon of music ,” says Fred.
