The event will be attended by 40 people from the Historical Re-enactment Society with a WW 2 based theme. They will have displays of tents and other memorabilia and will be dressed in appropriate uniforms for the day. They will have both active and static displays.
The Military Vehicle Society will be on site with a display of vehicles including a couple of tanks.
The local Fire Brigade will be in attendance with their vintage fire engine and memorabilia as well.
The Air Force will be making an appearance, details of this are still being arranged.
There will be a fly over (providing the weather is compliant) of a ¾ replica Spitfire.
Stalls will be on site selling food and drinks.
The day will end with a formal commemoration at the Cenotaph. Guest speaker will be W01 Wiremu Moffitt, Sergeant Major of the NZ Army, who is an ex Pātea lad.
