The next phase of the South Taranaki Business Park is now underway, after a blessing was held at the site on Tuesday.
South Taranaki District Council Business Development Manager Scott Willson says the Business Park is one of the Council’s key economic growth initiatives, designed to encourage greater private sector investment, sustainable economic growth, innovation, employment and resilience in the District.
The next stage of work includes roading, three waters, internet and electrical infrastructure upgrades on Fitzgerald Lane, Little Waihi Road and Kerry Lane. O.P.S Plumbing and Pipeline have begun work on Little Waihi Road first to provide an important link road between Kerry Lane and Fitzgerald Lane. Once Little Waihi Road is complete, the works will progress to Kerry Lane and then Fitzgerald Lane. (It is anticipated that Little Waihi Road will take around five months to complete).
This work builds on progress already made at the Business Park by Council and local developers, including the installation of a new watermain up SH3 to Fitzgerald Lane and Kerry Lane, a 360m extension to Fitzgerald Lane, a 170m portion of new road and underground services and an upgraded intersection at Fitzgerald Lane and Little Waihi Road. A new wastewater pump station and significant improvements to Waihi Road (SH3) are also part of the Business Park project, with detailed designs for those nearing completion.
"Several businesses have already established in the Business Park and other lots have been committed to incoming tenants," says Scott. "The Business Park is generating demand from local businesses wishing to relocate or expand and is attracting new businesses to the District."
