Dog Registrations open with a Chance to Win
It’s time to register man’s best friend, with annual dog registrations now due across South Taranaki.
Invoices will be sent to dog owners over the next few weeks to renew registrations for the coming year. Residents with an email address on file with Council will receive their invoice electronically, so keep an eye on your inbox.
This year, dog owners who register early will also be in with a chance to win a prize pack, including a refund on one dog registration and two packs of dog biscuits. Those who register their dogs before 31 July 2026 will automatically be entered into the draw.
All dogs aged three months and older must, by law, be microchipped and registered.
If you need to register a new dog, assistance is available at your local LibraryPlus or at the Hāwera Administration Building.

A reminder that any registrations unpaid after 31 July 2026 will incur a 50% penalty from 1 August 2026.
