Trial Water Shutdown – Hāwera – Monday 8 June 2026
A trial water shutdown will be undertaken to test the network and confirm that watermains can be successfully isolated. This work helps prepare the system for future planned outages and ensures we can respond effectively.
The shutdown will take place in two phases on Monday 8 June 2026:
Phase 1: 2.00pm – 4.00pm
- 1–7 Glover Road
- 39–98 Union Street
- 66–121 Victoria Street
- 91–158 Argyle Street
- 1–12 Robbins Crescent
- 2 and 6 Surrey Street
Phase 2: 9.00pm – 1.00am
- 1–175 Glover Road
- 1–6 Alex Taylor Street
- 2–99 Camberwell Road
- 1–71 Egmont Street
- 312 High Street
- 2–29 Scott Street
- 53–101 Collins Street
- 2 Tawhiti Road
During this time, crews will isolate sections of the network, monitor system response, and gradually restore water supply.
Residents may experience a temporary loss of water and possible discolouration when supply is restored. It is recommended to store water in advance and run the cold tap until clear. Cloudy or milky water is usually caused by air bubbles and will clear if left to stand briefly.
