School Holiday Programme for July 2026 out now
Families across South Taranaki can look forward to another action-packed school break, with the latest edition of the Happening Holidays School Holiday Programme now available. With so many activities on offer, there’s no chance for tamariki to claim they’re bored.
Happening Holidays is the South Taranaki District Council’s one stop guide to what’s on during the school break. The programme features activities taking place at the seven South Taranaki District LibraryPlus centres, the Hāwera Aquatic Centre, and a wide range of community run events. From rugby skills sessions and cupcake decorating to roller skating, craft workshops, and the all-new Big Bounce event. There’s something for every age and interest.
Council Events Coordinator Hannah Hancock says the programme continues to grow in variety and popularity.
“Happening Holidays makes it easy for whānau to find fun, affordable activities close to home. It’s packed with exciting options for tamariki and rangatahi throughout South Taranaki,” she says.
Parents and caregivers are reminded that registrations and permission slips are required for some activities, as outlined in the programme. Bookings can be made at the Hāwera isite, or at your local LibraryPlus. Some activities have limited spaces, so booking early is encouraged to avoid missing out.
Council is also inviting community groups, clubs, and organisations to be part of future events in the Happening Holidays programme. If you have an activity, workshop, or event idea you’d like to offer next school holidays, Council Events Coordinator Hannah Hancock would like to hear from you.
