Pātea Water Treatment Plant Upgrade Update

Good progress continues on the Pātea Water Treatment Plant, a significant investment in the future of our community's drinking water supply.

To date, all underground utilities have been installed, the underground irrigation tank is in place, process tank slabs have been poured, and the upwash tank has been delivered and installed. Work is also progressing well on the new treatment process building and amenities extension.

During construction, crews uncovered some previously unidentified underground pipes and services. While these discoveries have required additional work, the project continues to move forward steadily.

To allow for this and the remaining construction, installation and commissioning work still to come, the expected completion date has been extended to March 2027. Setting this timeframe now provides a realistic outlook as we deliver this important upgrade for the Pātea community.
