Building Fees and Charges

All fees stated are a minimum fee. When the cost of receiving and processing an application and/or related processes exceeds the stated fee (minimum charge), the Council may recover all additional costs on a time and cost basis. Time in excess of that covered by minimum fees will be charged in 30 minute increments to the nearest half hour. Costs incurred by Council, such as materials and consultants, are charged at cost plus 10% admin. All building fees have been set in accordance with the Building Amendment Act 2012.
- Certificate of Acceptance (minor works) is applied where the processing of such applications take up to 2 hours and requires one inspection (one person). If additional time or inspections are required to reach a decision, this will be charged as per regular processing and inspection fees.
- Certificate of Acceptance (major works) is applied where the processing of such application is within 2-4 hours and requires one inspection (one person). If additional time or inspections are required to reach a decision, this will be charged as per regular processing and inspection fees.

Payment Methods
- In Person at the Front Counter
You can pay by EFTPOS, credit card, or cash at our Council office on Albion Street or any of our local Libraries. Our customer service team will assist you with your payment and provide a receipt. - Online Bank Transfer
For convenience, you can pay via online banking (the bank account number is at the bottom off your invoice). Please ensure you use your Building Consent (BC) number or invoice number as the payment reference. This helps us match your payment to your application and avoid delays.

Please have your Building Consent (BC) number or invoice number ready when making the payment to ensure it is correctly allocated.
Important Notes
- Payments MUST be received before your building consent can be issued and works can begin.
- Always double-check the reference number before submitting your payment, if you have not added the correct reference number your payment may be lost in our system and added to your rates payments by mistake.
