Notification of Decision on Plan Change 3: Papakāinga Development

Notice is hereby given that on 26 May 2025 the South Taranaki District Council approved with modifications Plan Change 3: Papakāinga Development to the Operative South Taranaki District Plan.

Plan Change 3 amends the operative provisions to better enable papakāinga development in the district, to provide for the relationship of tāngata whenua with their ancestral lands while appropriately managing adverse effects on the environment.

A copy of the decision stating the reasons for accepting or rejecting the submissions received is available on the Council website at www.southtaranaki.com/planchange3 or can be viewed electronically during business hours at all Council offices and libraries.

Anyone who made a submission on the plan change has the right to appeal the above decision within 30 working days of receipt of the decision. The appeal period closes at 5pm on Friday 18 July 2025.

This notice is written in accordance with Clause 10 of the First Schedule of the Resource Management Act 1991.
