The South Taranaki District Council manages nine halls at Ōpunakē, Manaia Town Hall and Manaia Sports Hall, Kaponga, Eltham, Hāwera, Normanby, Pātea (Hunter Shaw building) and Waverley Community Centre to meet the social, recreational and conference needs of local communities.
The Manaia Sports hall, while owned by the Council, is managed on a day to day basis by the Manaia Sports Trust.
There are 29 other privately owned halls across the district and while the Council does not have all the details for these, we are happy to help where we can. Click here to find out more about the Rural Hall Fund.
In all cases a personal inspection of the halls is recommended prior to any bookings to make sure they are suitable for your needs.
The Manaia Town Hall and Manaia Sports Halls are closed due to Earthquake Prone Building results – soon to be demolished with new construction happening. South Taranaki District Council no longer own the building that was known as the Eltham Community or Municipal Building.
