Growing Together: Free Community Garden Workshops in South Taranaki
Ready to roll up your sleeves and get growing?
South Taranaki District Council is inviting locals to a FREE series of practical gardening workshops held at community gardens across the District. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to make the most of small spaces, these sessions offer something for everyone.
Led by Mieke from Sustainable Taranaki, each workshop is packed with hands-on tips, local knowledge and sustainable techniques to help you grow confidently at home.
"Participants will learn a variety of skills, including how to get started with gardening, propagation, crop rotation and companion planting," says South Taranaki District Council environment and sustainability manager Cindy Koen.
“These workshops are about more than just gardening - they’re about building connections, sharing skills and caring for our environment. Plus, there’s a chance to win spot prizes at each session!”
The series will kick off with the first workshop at St. Georges Pātea Community Garden on Saturday 15 November.
