Waste-Free Parenting Workshops in Hāwera and Ōpunakē
South Taranaki District Council is inviting parents and caregivers to attend a series of free, practical workshops designed to support low-waste living with young children.
The Waste-Free Parenting sessions will run throughout November at Hāwera LibraryPlus (located within Te Ramanui o Ruaputahanga) and Ōpunakē LibraryPlus, immediately following regular Storytime and Movement & Sensory sessions.
Environment and Sustainability Manager Cindy Koen says that these engaging, hands-on workshops explore sustainable parenting topics including cloth nappies, second-hand shopping, low-waste play, and eco-friendly lunchboxes, all designed to cut down on the amount of waste created when you have small children.
“Each session is designed to help families reduce waste, save money, and build lifelong habits with their preschoolers,” says Cindy. “These sessions are free to attend and open to all parents, caregivers, and whānau with young children. No registration is required.”
