Glover Road Improvements - January 2026

As part of the South Taranaki District Council’s programme to improve the quality of our roads, Graham Civil has been contracted to repair the road on Glover Road, Hāwera.

Work is planned to start on Thursday 29 January and will continue for about three weeks, weather permitting.

The work will be completed in stages, starting from the Turuturu/Glover Road intersection and progressing toward the State Highway 3 roundabout.

Traffic Management Information

The following Traffic Management will be in place for each stage:

• Stage 1 - Single lane closure outside Glover Dairy and Convenience Store, with detours in place.
• Stage 2 - Single lane closure with STOP/GO system for the sections outside All Things Automotive, Nevada, VTNZ, FarmSource and Future Kids Preschool.
• Stage 3 - Single lane closure with detours by the roundabout.
• Work will be done in the northbound lane first (driving toward the roundabout), followed by the south bound lane.
• Access will remain open to all affected businesses.
• Resident driveways may be blocked periodically during the day as each section is completed. Priority will be given to getting these done as promptly as possible. Contractors will door knock to let affected residents know when this may happen.

At times there will be limited street parking, however every effort will be made to get the work done as quickly as possible, with minimal disruption.
