Skeet and Manaia Road Intersection Repair - Update

UPDATE 13 April 2026

Work on the West section (Ōpunakē side) of the Skeet/Manaia Road intersection is almost completed with final sealing works to be carried out. The contractor will switch over and start work on the East section (Matapū side) from Tuesday 14 April 2026 and continue for 4 weeks weather permitting.

Traffic Management Information:

The following Traffic Management will be in place:

• There will be a closure on Skeet Road on the eastern (Matapū) side of the Skeet/Manaia Road intersection. Motorists travelling west from the Matapū side will need to detour before reaching the intersection. Motorists travelling east from the Ōpunakē side may turn north or south onto Manaia Road at the intersection and continue as usual.
• Detours will be in place to divert throughfare traffic on Skeet Road.
• Resident driveways near the site may be blocked periodically during the day as each section is completed. The contractor will door knock to let affected residents know when this may happen.
