Trial Water Shutdown - Hāwera - 17 May 2026
A trial water shutdown is being done to confirm that the watermains can be successfully isolated, helping prepare for a full shutdown in the future as part of the Glover Road Watermain Upgrade project.
This will occur on Sunday 17 May, from 12noon to 4pm for the following areas:
1–93 Glover Road
2–29 Scott Street
and 2 Tawhiti Road.
During this time, Veolia will be turning off watermains servicing the specified addresses, isolating sections of the network, monitoring system response, and then gradually restoring supply once testing is complete.
Residents may experience a temporary loss of water and possible discolouration when the water returns.
It is recommended to store water in advance and run the cold tap until clear after the water comes back on. If there are any issues, please contact the council Networks team on 0800 111 323.
