New sign-in process for LibraryPlus Libby and Overdrive users
From Wednesday 1 October 2026, LibraryPlus customers who use Libby and OverDrive will be required to sign in using their library barcode and PIN/password.
The sign-in process has been updated to better protect personal information.

How do I get my PIN/Password?
- If you have forgotten your PIN/password, please contact or visit your nearest South Taranaki LibraryPlus for help resetting it or reset from our catalogue at Forgotten password recovery.
- If you do not have a PIN/password, staff at your nearest South Taranaki LibraryPlus can help you set one up.
What is my library number/barcode?
Your library number/barcode can be found on the back of your library card.
If you don't have a physical card or aren't sure what your number/barcode is, please contact or visit your nearest South Taranaki LibraryPlus. We will ask you a simple question about your membership to ensure account security.
Why aren't my barcode and PIN/Password working when I try to log in?
If you are receiving an error message when signing in to Libby or OverDrive with your South Taranaki library details, please follow these steps:
- Check that your library barcode and PIN/password are correct. Try signing in to https://ils.stdc.govt.nz. If you are successful then your login details are correct. If not you can reset your password at Forgotten password recovery.
- Once your barcode and PIN/password have been confirmed as correct, please try logging into Overdrive/Libby again. It may take multiple attempts to successfully log in.
- If you have followed these steps and your barcode is still not being accepted, please contact your nearest South Taranaki LibraryPlus.
Why can't I see my checkouts or holds when I log in?
Some customers are experiencing missing checkouts/holds when logging back in to their account. These are not lost, and Overdrive is working to resolve this.
