Egmont Street, Park Lane and Cemetery Lane Improvements - Kaponga

As part of South Taranaki District Council's ongoing road maintenance programme, Superior Civil Construction has been contracted to repair sections of Egmont Street, Park Lane and Cemetery Lane in Kaponga.

The work is scheduled to begin on Monday 5 October 2026, and is expected to take approximately three weeks, weather permitting.

The work on Egmont Street will be between Alamein Street and Victoria Street.

Traffic Management

The following traffic management will be in place:

• Single-lane closure with STOP/GO traffic control for Egmont Street and Park Lane.
• Road closure on Cemetery Lane.

Cemetery Lane will be closed Monday to Friday while contractors are working on site. The road will reopen on weekends for public access. If you need to visit the cemetery during the week, please speak with the site staff before entering so they can ensure your safety. Access will be provided for burials when required.

Resident driveways may be temporarily blocked as each section is completed. Contractors will door-knock affected residents beforehand, and every effort will be made to minimise delays.

If you have children, please remind them to stay away from the worksite and follow any directions given by onsite staff. We also recommend keeping pets indoors while machinery is operating nearby.
