You are unable to book campsites at this facility. First in, best dressed!
New Zealand the way it was. Situated right on the beachfront, unpowered sites are available with room for motorhomes. Toilets and a children’s playground are provided. Note: There are no kitchen, laundry or shower facilities available at this campground.
- An easy walk to the beach (less than 5-minute) and about 8km away from Waitotara township
- Maximum stay of 50 days
- Strictly no hooking to water supply
- Dogs are allowed on leads and under control at all times
- We encourage you to take your rubbish away with you
- Public Toilets and BBQ available
This area is actively overseen by a custodian during the summer. This campground is administered by South Taranaki District Council. All enquiries, please call 0800 111 323.
Temporary Liquor Ban in place over New Years Eve each year
Each year, a temporary liquor ban is in place starting at 12noon on 31 December to 12noon on 1 January. Covering:
- Waiinu Beach, Waitōtara
- Waiinu Beach Road, from 373 Waiinu Beach Road (Old Quarry Road) to Nukumaru Parade
- Nukumaru Parade; Pingao Place; Okiwa Terrace
- Waiinu Beach (1km in both directions from the road entrance to the beach area);
- and Waiinu Beach Camp Reserve.
