Attending an event at the Theatre
Getting here
Address: 66 Albion Street, Hāwera
It is within walking distance of accommodation, eateries, the bus depot and South Taranaki isite Visitor Centre. Buses service many areas of the region, see the Taranaki Regional Council website for more information.
Parking
The Hāwera Community Centre complex is next to a large carpark that theatregoers are able to use. As well as a carpark across the road at the back of the cinema can also be used if there are spaces available.
Purchasing tickets
The South Taranaki isite Visitor Centre will always be able to assist you with getting tickets for shows (whether local or national).
Arrival time
The time shown on your ticket is the time the performance starts. The Theatre typically opens one hour prior to the performance start time and theatre doors open 30 minutes before the show starts.
We recommend that you arrive at least 20 minutes prior the performance starting to allow plenty of time to find a car park, familiarise yourself with the venue and be ushered to your seat.
Mobile phones
Please remember to switch off your mobile phone to avoid disrupting the performance. The glow and vibration from your phone can disrupt fellow audience members around you as well as the performers.
Accessibility
The Memorial Theatre is fully accessible for guests in wheelchairs (with accessible seating available in the centre front row). If you wish to book an accessible seat, you need to book this through the South Taranaki site Visitors Centre by calling (06) 278 8599 - you are not able to book these online.
Due to steep and narrow seating and stairways, we do not recommend the back rows for patrons with limited mobility.
