Community Summer Pools
Ngā puna kauhoe raumati a-hāpori
We're sorry to say that due to staff shortages, Rawhitiroa Pool won't be opening today (Saturday 18 February) and Kaponga Pool will be closed on Sunday 19 February. We apologise for any inconvenience caused, but we can't open the pools without lifeguards in attendance.
Council is proud to provide towns around the district with community pools, free of charge, that open during the summer months (from early December - Taranaki Anniversary at the beginning of March). These pools are upgraded regularly and are amazing facilities to offer our residents.
During the school term, all community summer pools are open, and patrolled, Monday – Friday 3.30pm – 7pm - with the exception of Waverley which is open from 4pm - 7pm on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Pools are open from 12noon – 7pm during school holidays and weekends and from 12noon - 6pm on public holidays. Please note that the pools close at 5pm on Christmas and New Year's Eve and they are closed on Christmas Day. The pools are available to hire outside public hours by arrangement.
If you want more information, please contact the team at the Hāwera Aquatic Centre on (06) 278 0021 or 0800 111 323.
All children under the age of 8 must be actively supervised by a caregiver 16 years or older.
